CHANDLER, Ariz. –Kellie Joyce (South Pomfret, Vt.) of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team was named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America Third Team on Monday.
Joyce was under consideration for an All-America team after being named to the NFHCA All-Northeast Region First Team in mid-November.
Joyce, a senior and linchpin of the midfield, started all 21 games with two goals and six assists for 10 points. With those stats, the captain ranked first on the team in assists and fifth in points; she also ranked third on the squad in both shots (27) and shots on goal (17). In America East, Joyce was No. 7 in assists per game.
She matched her personal best of two assists twice in the last six games of the regular season, when she compiled two goals and four assists for eight points. Joyce scored the goals in consecutive road games against UMass Lowell and University of Michigan, and registered the two-assist efforts at home vs. the University of Vermont and intrastate rival Dartmouth College.
Joyce finished with a career total of 23 assists, which is tied for seventh on the program’s all-time leaderboard.
She was named to the America East All-Conference First Team in November. Her other career accolades include All-Conference Second Team (2012, 2013), America East Academic Honor Roll (’11, ’12, ’13) and NFHCA All-Academic Squad.
