MR THOMAS JOYCE.

With the passing of Mr Thomas  Joyce at the Benalla Bush Nursing Hospital on Sunday last Winton has lost one of its oldest and most highly respected residents. The late Mr Joyce, who was 74 years of age,was a son of the late Robert and  Bridget Joyce, and was born at Win-  ton where he has resided ever since he was married at Benalla 36 years ago to Miss Mary Ann Moore, who survives him. The late Mr. Joyce,    who possessed many good qualities  was well liked by a large circle of    friends who will ,regret his passing.He reared a family of five sons and  nine daughters’ viz.,- Margaret (deceased), Robert (Benalla), Gladys(Mrs J. Nelson, Winton), Mary (,MrsJ Shirwell, Winton), Elizabeth (Melbourne), Richard, Irene, Jean, William,    Albert, Doreen and Dorothy  (all of Winton), for whom sincere  sympathy is felt at their loss.Following a service by Canon R,  C .H. Crigan, at Holy, ‘Trinity Churchon Tuesday last, the funeral left forthe Winton cemetery. The coffin was  borne by Messrs Robert Joyce, R    Joyce, J Nelson, J. Sherwill, J.Newman and W. Ellis. ‘The pall was supported by Cr. S. Mellor, Messrs J.Lynch, M. Farrington, G. Sherwill, G.Croxford, R. Newman, J. Mack and J. Mason. Canon Crigan officiated at the graveside. The funeral arrangements were,carried out by Mr E. A.  Abbott.
