Sister M. A. Joyce

Sister Mary Alacoque Joyce,who died at a Launceston private hospital last week, was a teacher for many years at the Convent of Mercy, Deloraine.  She was a daughter of the late Mr. Aloysius Joyce and Mrs.Clare Joyce, of  Burnie.  Sister Joyce entered the Order of Sisters of Mercy 45 years ago,and, with the exception of three years at Burnie, where she was Mother Superior, she was stationed at Deloraine.   As a teacher she was outstanding, but her greatest work was the care and training of the boarders at the school.The funeral took place last Sunday at the Deloraine General Cemetery after a service at the Church of the Holy Redeemer.Pall-bearer^ were Messrs. J. K.Sullivan, E. King, D. J. Griffin(Warden), Dr. K. Fitzpatrick and Messrs. J. Enright and C. Abel.
