Romaine McFall Joyce 1910 – 2003

FALL BRANCH – Romaine McFall Joyce, 93, died on Sunday (Dec. 7, 2003) at Holston Valley Medical Center Emergency Room after an extended illness.

Born in Scott County, Va., she had lived most of her life in Fall Branch.

Mrs. Joyce was a graduate of Boone’s Creek High School and Milligan College. She taught school in the Washington County School System for 42 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ, and the Eastern Star and Fall Branch Ruritan Club.

The daughter of the late W.A. and Texas McFall, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Joyce in May 1990; two brothers, Walter McFall and A.G. McFall.

Surviving are her sister, Mildred Gay of Avon Park, Fla.; nephews, Milton Shaw, Knoxville, and Greg Gay, Winter Haven, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Fall Branch Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Ricketts and Wayne Boswell officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens in Johnson City.
