MacCARTHY-JOYCE.

A picturesque wedding- took place at Signal Row Methodist Church, Sand-gate, on April 6, when the marriage of Mr. William Alexander MacCarthy(only son of Mr. and Mrs. w. H. Mac-Carthy, Gymple-street. Northgate Junction) and Miss Rachel Evelyn Grenfell (Ray) Joyce (only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Joyce, Rainbow street, Sandgate) was celebrated. The Rev. C. P. Palethorpe officiated, and Miss Gwen. Hayes-presided at the organ.The bride, who was given away  by her father, wore a gown of satin beaute, showing a cape collar falling from a V neck. Her veil was of silk tulle, and she carried a shower bouquet of white’roses and stephanotis. As bridesmaid Miss Joan Young (cousin of the »bridegroom) was gowned in salmon pink georgette. Her shower bouquet was of pink roses. Mr. Colin Hay was the best man. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. On leaving in their car for the honeymoon, which will be spenttouring Sydney and the Blue Moun-tains, the bride wore an ensemble ofmarine blue crepe taffetas, with a hatto tone. The bouquets were the workof Mr. M. G. Rose (florist), of Miltonroad, Northgate.
