PORTLAND — Megan Hope Joyce, 6 years old, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on April 22, 2012, at the Barbara Bush Unit at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Portland on May 20, 2005, a loving daughter of Jason and Elizabeth (Munn) Joyce, little sister to Christopher and Benjamin Joyce, all of Winslow.

Megan had an infectious personality, from her smile to her dancing. When Megan was in the room, her presence was radiating. She loved to tease and was a very happy-go-lucky little girl. Megan was the princess of her home. She loved the colors pink and purple, enjoyed playing dress up, tea parties, sword fights with her big brothers and watching shows with them.

Megan is survived by her beloved mother and father, Jason and Elizabeth; her two big brothers, whom she adored, Christopher and Benjamin; maternal grandparents Pauline “Memere” Dionne and Arthur “Grampy” Munn; paternal grandfather James “Papa” Joyce and paternal great-grandmother Rosemary Patchen; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and the doctors and nurses who were like family at the Barbara Bush Unit.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Sharon Joyce in 2010.

A celebration of Megan’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 2539 Riverside Drive, U.S. Route 201, Vassalboro. Those wishing to send memorial donations in Megan’s memory may do so to The Circle of Giving, P.O. Box 5, North Waterboro, ME 04061.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville, ME 04901; 872-7676.
