JOYCE, Frances “Franny” Marie (Buckley) 85. In Brookline passed away peacefully on February 3, 2013 at the Brookline Health Care Center. Family and friends are asked to gather for a funeral mass to be held at St. Lawrence Church on February 6, 2013 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Bell-O’Dea Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. Frances was born in Brookline to Cornelius and Sarah (Dunster) Buckley on December 1, 1927. She graduated from Brookline High School in 1947 and went on to earn an Associates Degree from Chandler Business School in Boston. She married her childhood sweetheart, Francis James Joyce, on June 24, 1949 and raised 4 children. She retired as a social worker from the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare in 1994. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Sarah, and three brothers Philip, Joseph and Cornelius Buckley. Frances is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 63 years, Francis James Joyce, her siblings John Buckley of Virginia, Cornelia (Nealy) Hunt of Virginia, Elinor Mullins of Falmouth, Paul Buckley of Falmouth and Mary McEntee of California; her four children Patrick (Rosanne) Joyce of Norwell, Richard (Linda) Joyce of Dracut, Kathleen (Gary) Aufiero of Nashua, NH and Paul (Jeanne) Joyce of Topsham, ME; and her six grandchildren Adrienne and Justin Aufiero, James and Alana Joyce and Gabriella and Patrick Joyce. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
