Mr. Jeffrey Lee Joyce

JOYCE, Jeffrey Lee, age 35, was called home on Friday, February 12th. He was predeceased by two grandfathers, Dolphus Joyce of Basset, Virginia, and James Abbott of Tampa, Florida, and a grandmother, Myrtle Warren of Fieldale, Virginia. He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Janet Joyce, of Tampa, his grandmother, Lillian Abbott of Sarasota, his brother and wife, Jason and Jamie Joyce of Orlando, and his half-sister, Michele Joyce of Tampa, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, a nephew and a niece. Jeffrey graduated from Plant High School in 1994, and went to work. He ended up working for Publix for a number of years, and truly cared for the customers that he served. He spent ten years volunteering at Memorial Hospital on Swann Ave, and truly cared for the patients he served. He spent many years in the primary program at Westshore Christian Church, then New Beginnings Christian Church, and truly cared for the children and teachers he served. Jeffrey had been plagued with many lingering medical conditions, but in spite of it all, he had a winning smile and was a very happy soul. He was never truly our child, but was on loan to us for the short years that he had on earth, and we were blessed to have been part of his life. We feel that he was sent to us to teach us tolerance and patience, and he was a successful teacher. Jeffrey will be missed by many, but none any more than the family that loved him so dearly. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Mon. Feb. 15th at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tues. Feb. 16th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon.
