Worcester-Gerald T. Joyce, 76, formerly of Clinton, passed away peacefully at Jewish Healthcare Center on Saturday, June 27, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Elizabeth A. (Perla) Joyce; their children, Craig M. Joyce & his wife Cindy of Auburn, NH; Lee Ann Rempelakis, wife of the late Thomas Rempelakis, of Marlborough; and Daniel G. Joyce of Sandown, NH. He leaves his siblings and their spouses, Nancy Morabito & Tony of Clinton; David Joyce & Leslie of Milford; 3 grandchildren, Lauren Rempelakis & fiancé Eric Wojtowicz, Luke D. Joyce, and Lena Rose Joyce; great-grandson Gabriel T. Wojtowicz; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends. He is pre-deceased by siblings Mary Esther Polack, Carol Ann Shaw, John Joyce, and James Joyce.
Jerry was born in Clinton to the late Gerald J. & Katherine (Kinsella) Joyce. He attended local schools, graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1957, and enlisted to proudly serve our nation in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Jerry returned home safely, completed studies at Worcester Junior College, and began his career as a nationwide sales representative for Hatfield Wire & Cable. He later founded, successfully owned and operated GT Joyce Electrical Sales, Inc., of Holden for more than twenty years before finishing his career as a salesman for CLS-Rexel. Jerry loved the game of golf and was a beloved friend and member of Oak Hill Country Club for 33 years. He adored his family and most enjoyed vacations together to Myrtle Beach. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home from 4 until 7pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.
