Frank “Sonny” Joyce, age 79, of North Tonawanda, died May 17, 2013 at DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility after a brief illness.  Born in Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Frank N. and Gertrude (nee Mollnow) Joyce and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.  A resident of the Tonawandas for the greater part of his life, he was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.  Frank had operated Joyce Plumbing and Heating until retiring in 1982 and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 22.  He was the brother of the late Clement Joyce.

He is survived by his daughter, Justine G. Joyce of Newark; his former wife, Nita (nee Brumley) Joyce of North Tonawanda; and a sister, Lois Jakala of Ransomville.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

There is no visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street in Tonawanda.  Friends invited.  If desired, memorials to the Myasthenia Gravis Association, 14 Summit Road, Delmar, NY 12054, or at www.myasthenia.org, are preferred by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the care of the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc.,  Tonawanda.
