Donna Darlene Joyce 1944 – 2013

Donna Darlene Joyce, 69, of Buffalo passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at her home in Buffalo.

Donna was born in rural Buffalo, Kansas on April 11, 1944, the daughter of John “Pete” and Millie Johnson (Miller). She attended Buffalo schools.
Donna grew up in Buffalo, Kansas where she attended Buffalo schools.

She worked with her father custom baling hay, where she met here husband Robert Dean Joyce. They married August 27, 1961 in Buffalo. From this union, three sons were born, Michael, Johnny, and Tommy. Johnny preceded her in death.

Donna was a housewife but also worked outside the home. She worked at the Neodesha Nursing Home in Neodesha, M&H meat processing in Chanute, Chanute Healthcare, Asplundah Tree Expert Company, where she drove a tractor and bush hog and also helped her husband with the family business, Buffalo Forms. She also babysat for her grandchildren whenever the need arose, and cared for her father in-law in her home.

She enjoyed watching her family in whatever activities they were involved in, whether it was stock car racing, fishing, coyote hunting or her favorite, mud races.

Donna is survived by her husband Dean, two Sons Mike and wife Lorie Joyce, Altoona and Tommy and wife Lisa Joyce of Chanute. Sisters Carolyn and Pat Joyce. Grandchildren, Kristen and Ty Joyce, Jessica Taylor, William, Austin, Dallas, Laynee, and Layle Joyce, and great grandchildren, Madison, Remington, Hunter, and Ely Joyce.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Johnny, brothers, Robert Johnson and his wife Bobby, half brothers Max and Rex Johnson and a half sister Marilyn Milligan.
