JOYCE MADISON – DELSIE LEE VADEN JOYCE April 9, 1914 – Nov. 26, 2012 Delsie Lee Vaden Joyce, 98, of 1068 Pete Martin Rd., Madison, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Clarence Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery. Mrs. Joyce was born on April 9, 1914, in Stokes County to the late Everette and Bertha Stewart Vaden. She was a retired farmer and housewife, and a life long member of Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church. Delsie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Joyce; a sister, Elsie V. Scott; two brothers, Raymond and Harvey Vaden. Survivors include a son, Joe Donald Joyce; a daughter, Annie Ruth Joyce; a special daughter-in-law, Bonnie Joyce; two grandchildren, Keith (Katherine) Joyce and Gina (Phillip) Bowen; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Joyce and Sierra Bowen; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and other times at the home of Bonnie Joyce, 10173 NC 704 Hwy., Madison, NC. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Cemetery, c/o Juanita Joyce, 1693 NC Hwy. 770, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046. Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
