BLAKE OF BALLYGLUNIN PARK.

BLAKE, WALTER-MARTIN, Esq. of Ballyglunin. Park, co. Galway, 4. 1828;  s. his uncle 1861.

Lineage  — MARTIN BLAKE FITZANDREW. Esq. of Cummer, sheriff of Galway, 1648, son of Andrew Blake, by Julia Martyn his wife, had a grant of the estate of Ballyglunin, 29 CHARLES II. : ho M. 1st, Margaret Martyn, of Dangan, and 2ndly,

Anne Joyes, and d. 1091, leaving issue, by his 2nd wife, two sons and one dau.

The elder son, PETER BLAKE, Esq. of Cummor and Ballyglunin, m. Sybilla Joyce, and d. 1691, leaving

MARTIN, of whom presently;

Patrick, ancestor of SIR HENRY BLAKE, Bart, of Langham, co. Suffolk ; and other issue.

The eldest son, MARTIN BLAKE, Esq. of Cummer and Ballyglunin, m. 1691, Margaret French, of the family of French Park, and  d. 1731, having had issue two sons and two daus.

The eldest son, EDMOND BLAKE, Esq. of Ballyglunin, m. 1724, Mary French, of Rahasane, and d. 1771, leaving, with other issue, an eldest son,

MARTIN BLAKE, Esq. of Ballyglunin, m. 1751, Bridget Joyce, of Galway, aud d. 1777, leaving issue,

I. EDMOND, of Ballyglunin, m. 1780, Mary Aylward, of Ballinagar (which lady afterwards m. 1787, Col. John Blake, of Furbo), and d. 1782, baring had one son, Martin-Stephen who d. unm. 1788.

II. WALTER, of whom presently.

III. Martin, in holy orders.

IV. Pierce, in holy orders.

V. John, m. 31 Dec. 1803, Olivia-Ann French, of Brook Lodge, and d. 6 Uct. 1822, having had issue,

    1. I John-Joseph, of Garbally, King’s Co., m. 3 Oct. 1829, Elizabeth Bodkin, of Amagh, co. Galway, and has issue, John-St. George, d. in infancy,  Harriett: and Olivia
    2. Julia, m. 1835, to Martin-Kirwan Blake, Esq. of Merlin Park.

The 2nd son, WALKER BLAKE, Esq., m. 1780, Mary Archdeacon, and had issue,

i. MARTIN-JOSEPH, his heir.

II. Henry, m. April, 1827, Adelaide, eldest dau. of the late Robert French, Esq. of Monivae Castle, co. Galway  and d. 7 Oct. 1860, leaving issue,

WALTER-MARTIN, now of Ballyglunin Park.

The elder son, MARTIN-JOSEPH BLAKE, Esq. of Ballyglunin Park, b 1790, was M.P. for Galway for a long period : he d. unis. 1861, and was s, by his nephew, the present WALTER-MARTIN BLAKE, Esq. of Ballyglunin.
