Anita Joyce of Clarks Summit and formerly of the Bellevue section of Scranton, died Friday at Moses Taylor Hospital after a brief illness. Her husband, John, died in 1991.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Vito and Marie Lombardi Santoro, she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She attended West Scranton High School and worked as a waitress most of her life. She worked at the Hotel Casey for more than 20 years. Anita loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking and baking and sharing all with her family and friends. Anita was a die-hard New York Yankees fan and would never miss a televised game. The family would like to thank Dr. Steven B. Eisner and the entire staff of Life Geisinger for their outstanding compassion and care.

Surviving are three daughters, Madonna Ciullo and husband, Leo, Scranton; Jacqueline Bonnfede, Scranton; and Debbie Mackin, with whom she resided for the last 10 years; a son, Kevin J. Joyce, Scranton; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Sacco, Lena Sacco, Edith Santee, Hilda DeNero and Dorothy Hogan; and six brothers, Benjamin, Anthony, Vincent, Joseph, Arthur and Alfred Santoro.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Patrick’s Church, Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
